I like this book. I'm a fan of forward thinking, and, finding new ways to conceptualize music, or any related teaching concepts. This book did a great job, until it came to 16th note explanations. Those take a bit more work. I think, a small downloadable worksheet to correspond to the exercises in this book would be very helpful. It starts from very simple to complex.I will advise you though, that there is a lot of reading, and as visionaries like to do, the author takes us into his own thought processing and reasons behind what he does. Sometimes an idea can be made more concise, but overall, this book is a great one, with some very fresh perspectives on sight reading rhythms.Is it "Instantly"? In all fairness, not at all. But if you work through the progressive exercises and spend time with the subdivision ideas, it certainly can become that way after a while, probably faster than conventional teaching approaches do.
