I like to buy brand new hardbacks, but when hunting for OOP books the history of a chance find an a second-hand bookshop fascinates me. I came across You Are Too Much, Charlie Brown in the window of a such a store in a cozy seaside town back in June. It cost me £2, eight times as much as the 25p RRP back in 1970. The book wasn't in perfect condition but it's cool knowing that what sat on some strangers bookshelf for nearly 40 years is now part of my own library.The Peanuts collection are now sold in expensive Deluxe Hardbacks but this little paperback features a single strip on every page, like the old Garfield books. As usual ol' Chuck can't catch a break, Lucy is bossy, Snoopy is certifiably insane, Linus is an enigma and Pigpen is perpetually dirty. It never gets old.
