Reviews

I bought this for our daughter's 17th birthday, thus this is her review:Behind The Sofa is a labor of love, it's true, and that really shows in this collection of stories.Sadly, however, such labors do not always bear the most perfect of fruits. Behind The Sofa is great for a knock-down, drag-out, die-hard Whovian, but please don't get this for your ten-year-old. The stories are interesting, even occasionally funny, but many of the anecdotes seem to have a rambling, aimless quality that doesn't sit well with the reader. Every word will be appreciated by someone who can spell Rexicoricofallapatorius in one go, but if you're the kind of guy/gal that goes to a WhoCon *not* dressed as the original Cyberman, a lot of the references will be lost on you. That doesn't mean you can't appreciate them though! Even though I haven't seen every episode, and still feel a vague sort of guilt for my silence after "Would you like a Jelly Baby?" jokes, this was a fairly entertaining read. I felt immersed, even if I didn't always understand what they were talking about, in the love of the series and the people and the idea of Who.Would I rather have this than a box-set of all things Tennant, though? No.
